Hiking

The "Schlössle", which rises on a hill above the Lauter, is the jewel of Oberlenningen. It was built in the years 1593-1596 by Messrs. Schilling von Cannstatt and was a local aristocratic residence of the late Middle Ages. Today the community library is on the 1st floor and the "Museum for Paper and Book Art" on the 2nd floor.

The Schlössle in Oberlenningen was built between 1593 and 1596 by the Herren Schilling von Cannstatt as a noble residence. The unique Renaissance building later served as a residential house for citizens and workers of the Scheufelen paper factory. After a comprehensive rescue and restoration by the municipality, it now serves as a cultural monument.

It is not without reason that the Schlössle is described as a "heritage conservation stroke of luck". It was built between 1593 and 1596 by the Schilling von Cannstatt family and represents a characteristic local noble seat of the late Middle Ages. The building is a rarity in terms of heritage conservation because it was never fundamentally rebuilt or modernized after its construction and therefore still surprisingly shows a lot of its original furnishings.
