A bridge that tells stories. This is where the trains once ran from the 'Stettiner Bahnhof' to 'Königsberg in Prussia'.

Decommissioned railway bridge, the steel structure is still impressive

The railway bridges, now known as Liesenbrücken, over the intersection of Gartenstraße, Scheringstraße, Liesenstraße and Ackerstraße in Berlin-Wedding are listed monuments.

Road traffic under the bridge is organized by a roundabout. To accommodate the increased volume of traffic, two bridges were built between 1890 and 1896 to enable trouble-free crossing. Previously, road users at the level crossing had to let the “Stettiner Bahn” pass at the same level.

For the construction of the bridges, the tracks were laid on embankments. The actual bridges are iron framework constructions. The end pieces form portals. On the bridges, the tracks were laid in a light gravel fill, and the track bed was covered with slabs that no longer exist today.

The middle, smaller bridge is single-track and served as a service track to the depot at Gesundbrunnen station. The eastern, larger bridge has two tracks and took on the tracks of the Szczecin Railway. A third (western) bridge was built between 1934 and 1939 for the new north-south S-Bahn line. Today only the renovated western bridges remain in service.
