Hiking

The park was laid out in 1856 by the newspaper publisher Hermann Killisch von Horn, initially as a private garden in the Italian Renaissance style and later expanded and enlarged according to the English model. After 1864, the magnificent entrance portal on today's Wilhelm-Kuhr-Strasse, which is one of Pankow's landmarks, was built. After the death of the founder, the municipality of Pankow bought the property in 1907 and transformed it into a public park, the Bürgerpark.
