The Luckauer tower is located on the former Luckau city gate and is also known as the "Thick Tower" because of its thick walls. At 24 meters, it is the largest of all the original towers on the city wall.

The Luckau Gate Tower, popularly known as the "Dicker Turm", is the highest tower in the city fortifications at around 80 feet (24 m). It is completed by a crenellated wreath and an eight-sided massive pyramid, which has been shortened several times in the past. A quatrefoil frieze and a net pattern on the field side stand out as decorative elements. He also has a machicolation at high altitude. After Beeskow became a garrison town in 1729, the tower served as a powder magazine. In the opening on the field side, the small bell of the former hospital church is said to have hung (now in the Bergfried of the Biological Heimatmuseum Beeskow) to be rung to feed the horses.
