    Viewpoint where I only found out later that I was standing on a castle. Looks more interesting from below.
    About the history of the castle:
    Bühringen lies on a cliff above the confluence of the Fils and Rötelbach. The castle is a rare rock-rim castle, located at the end of a plateau on the corner of a bluff. Only the ditches and some ground foundations have survived from the castle. The 13th-century castle was destroyed in the Peasants' Wars of 1525. The keep was probably outside the main bailey on a small rock tower, a rare construction.
