"The St. Lamberti Church in Ochtrup is a Catholic parish church of the parish of St. Lambertus in the bishopric of Münster, whose origins date back to the 13th century.
In 1866, the foundation stone was laid for the new church construction of St. Lamberti in Neo-Gothic, planned by the Münster architect Hilger Hertel. In 1869, the keystone for the vaulted ceiling was set. The solemn consecration of the church took place on August 27, 1873.

The tower has a height of about 75 m. In 1895 St. Lamberti was equipped with electric light, in 1910 followed by central heating, in 1975 the choir room was conciliar adapted to the liturgical decisions of the Second Vatican Council.

In 1997, the last major renovation of the church took place. The sanctuary was altered by assembling the quadrangular altar from the former side altars and placing it in the quadrangle; the choir room was brought forward to the central nave.

Likewise, the baptismal font, made of Bentheim sandstone and dating back to the 12th century, was given a new place in the left aisle. In 2000, the interior was redecorated, with the supporting elements sandstone colored.

Since 27 November 2005, the St. Lamberti Church in Ochtrup is also the parish church of the new parish of St. Lambertus. "Source: muensterland.de
