In 1928, a new and direct route to Hellerhausplatz was built from Kaltenbrunnertal. Emil Ohler (Neustadt 06/03/1877 – 02/21/1959), meritorious hiker and founding member of the Palatinate Forest Association, was instrumental in the construction of the house and also in the construction of the path. He was able to win many members for this venture. The advertising power of his ideas, combined with his perseverance, helped him.
