Here, a shepherd from the Neuenhof in 1280 after the Easter fair in Kranenburg the stored Hostie have placed in a hollow tree. He regretted his action, returned to church and confessed his sin to the pastor. The pastor asked him to show the tree in which the host lay. They started with a monstrance and a servant. The shepherd showed him this tree and the pastor tried to get her out of it. The host went much deeper into the tree, and the pastor ended the attempt. He prayed to God that he would still experience what would happen to this Host. In 1308 a felled tree was delivered to him. From it firewood should be made. When this tree was cut, the Holy Cross of Miracles came to light. This cross made Kranenburg a place of pilgrimage. There are cross turrets in the cruise ship of the abbey and pilgrimage church of St. Peter and Paul. At the place where Baum stood with the host, now stands the Holy Crossstock. The hole in the Stehle shows the pilgrimage church.
