The weekly market still takes place today under the open arcades facing the Reuss. The Kornschütte above, formerly a public department store, is now an urban exhibition space. The town hall is a listed building.

The listed town hall - a place steeped in history. Built between 1602 and 1606 in the style of the Italian Renaissance. Until 1798, the year of the revolution, the meeting place of the Small and Large Council of Lucerne. Today the Great City Council holds its meetings in the venerable town hall, which is decorated with valuable paintings.
