Borgstedt in the Rendsburg region
The municipality of Borgstedt is located directly on the water, just 5 kilometers from the city of Rendsburg. Opposite is the Rader Island, which is surrounded by the Borgstedter Enge and the Kiel Canal. The 1,600 residents live directly on the Eider and close to the Kiel Canal, where both bodies of water meet. This location makes it possible to greet the passing ocean-going ships and luxury liners with amazement and a little sadness. The bathing area on the Borgstedter Lake is just as inviting for relaxation as the magical towpath along the Eider. Directly within sight is the Rader Island, an artificial island between the Eider and the Kiel Canal, which belongs to the municipalities of Borgstedt, Schacht-Audorf and Rade near Rendsburg. There is a yacht service on the island, the Gast-Marina Schreiber. Another marina can be found directly on Lake Borgstedt in the Eider with the Borgstedt Yacht Club.
