The complex once belonged to the former Stockau Castle on the Gersprenz, which was also known as Groschlag'sches Schloss after the noble family. It was built from 1687 by Philipp von Groschlag, who moved into it with his family after its completion in 1699. After the death of the last member of the noble dynasty, the building changed hands several times. However, its last owner, the Austrian Colonel von Brüselle, never came to Dieburg. On his behalf, his administrator Kraft von Dieburg had the castle completely demolished after all materials had been sold in 1857.

Beautifully laid out castle park, many benches in the sun and in the shade to linger, also panorama benches. Great beer garden for a maximum of 100 guests, so the tables are very spread out, really great, with self-service, delicious food. Tip: less busy during the week, like everywhere else, very crowded at the weekend, so less idyll. Definitely worth visiting ‼️💯
