Beautiful natural and varied path from Vesser to the Glasbachhütte. Along the Vesser through dense deciduous forest, there is pure nature, to see your fill.

The Vessertal primeval forest path runs along the lower part of the existing Vessertal circular hiking trail. The path is exciting and varied. The approximately five-hour hike can be started from the small village of Vesser, from Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig or from Breitenbach in the southernmost part of the route. The primeval forest path leads through the largest core zone of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Thuringian Forest. The forest is allowed to develop naturally here. From young beeches to impressive silver firs, from fresh seedlings to giant old trees and dead wood - the natural (age) structure of a wild forest can be discovered here.About half of the way, the jungle path leads along the lively Vesser. Colorful flower meadows and wonderful views provide variety. And with the Waldhotel Stutenhaus there is also the opportunity to fortify yourself on the way with a magnificent view.As an alternative route for casual hikers and families with small children, there is the shorter family trail around the “Großer Herrenhügel” (approx. 5 km).
