The listed estate was originally a village settlement. It passed into the possession of the Arnsburg monastery in the 13th century as a gift from the knight Heinrich von Wickstadt, known as Goldsteyn. After the monastery was dissolved in 1803, the complex, which was then surrounded by a moat, became a farm estate and domain. A baroque mansion from 1752, a gate tower and a church with a rectory are part of the ensemble. Among other things, a cooking studio is located in the estate today. The Wickstädter Kunstfest with artists from the Wetterau also takes place here regularly.
