Hiking Highlight
The view over the meadows is always great, especially of course when the wildflowers are in bloom. A not so busy stamping point of the HWN, here you can enjoy the peace and quiet. Can be planned on a hike to Benneckenstein, Tanne or Trautenstein.

I'm not quite sure why the stamp is in this place. Possibly. it's nicer there in winter with lots of snow.

HWN 49, honest: The detour is worth it only because of the stamp of the Harzer hiking nobility, otherwise I can not report anything special from here.

There are on the way to Grüntal, hidden in the forest, the remaining foundations of Russian barracks, which were built around 1950 there. It's nice to see how nature brings back what it owns. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture. Is already a small highlight on the tour.

From Trautenstein (junction B242 / L97) it is approx. 1.4 km via a beautiful forest path to the Grüntal forest settlement. In Grüntal there is stamp number 49 for the Harz hiking pin. During our visit we could see some woodpeckers in the trees next to the stamping point.

Grüntal is a forest village with holiday homes and a forest house that is still inhabited. The unspectacular stamping point HWN 49 is located here. Harzer Wanderadel should also have a resting place here. However, we didn't find anything.
