The landscape of the Vorsdonk - Turfputten meander is largely located in the southwest of Aarschot (Gelrode district). A small part of this landscape, in the far north, is located in Begijnendijk (betekom district). The Vorsdonkbos forms the western half of the protected landscape, the Turfputten comprise the eastern half. The area is located along the lower reaches of the Demer. Hiking

The area contains an important but vulnerable soil archive, especially traces from the Stone Age and old peat pits with associated outcrop patterns. In the northwestern part there is also Ter Rivieren castle, first mentioned in 1197 and possibly containing traces of feudal times. More at inventaris.onroerenderfgoed.be/indicationsobjecten/417
