The inner city of Žilina is designed as a very large pedestrian zone, similar to that of Bratislava, in which shopping opportunities and restaurants dominate.

Catholic parish and cathedral church of the Holy Trinity (Slovak: "Katedrála Najsvätejšej Trojice") built in 1400.
