In the former places Niederdahlum and Oberdahlum, the St. Jürgen church was built around the 1200th century. In his time there was a strict regulation for the use of the common church. So it had 2 entrances and 2 morgues. As now suggests, there was also a strict seating arrangement, separated by the central aisle. The Oberdahlumers sat on the northern side, the Unterdahlumers on the southern side.
The time of the appearance of the church suggests the period between Romanesque and Gothic.
