The monastery and monastery church from the Staufer period convey impressions of special importance to passers-by - even more so to hikers coming down from the south or north. It's hard to understand why the complex was almost forgotten for so long. But one may well find consolation in the fact that the Sleeping Beauty slumber above all saved the church from historicizing 'restoration'.

Agricultural use of the nave since the beginning of the 19th century caused major changes, making the integration of the two parts of the church particularly difficult in the last decade of the 20th century. The result is always a reason for intensive discussions.

In the year 2000 - finally - the possibility of a scientific investigation of the medieval murals in the choir and the north transept arose. You will find a summary of the results in the murals research project. The full text of the dissertation was published in autumn 2000.

The latest research on history, art history and archeology was presented in October 2001. The Rhein-Neckar District Archives and the Friends of the Lobenfeld Monastery Church will be able to present the fate of the monastery after the Reformation.

On April 30, 2005, the edition of the Lobenfeld camp book from 1567 was presented in the monastery church.

The historic organ from 1773 is the core of the summer concerts that have been using the atmosphere and acoustics of the monastery church since 1958.

During the winter months, the monastery church is only open on Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. But you can get the key at the Gasthaus Kloster (a Greek restaurant, map in the display case in front of the church, closed on Tuesdays).
