Very nice view of a Neckarschleife and over to the festival Dilsberg. The ascent of the tower, however, is adventurous, as it is pitch dark there. Without a flashlight it is nowadays with a flashlight app on the smartphone but no problem. Otherwise, climbing stairs would be very difficult.

The (about 113 steps) ascent to the tower ♖ is rewarded with a beautiful view over the Neckarschleife

Freely accessible ruin with lookout tower, no entrance fee needed. One of the castles of the four-castle corner on the Neckar. Short walk to the Schwalbennest, definitely with visit.

    Steep increase worthwhile.
Dilsberg Castle costs 2 euros entry, worth it as the castle and the castle galleries are preserved.

If you are on the Neckarsteig, you should definitely include the ascent to the tower of the rear castle. Since the tower has no windows, it is very dark inside and you need a flashlight or cell phone to get to the top safely. The view from above compensates for the difficult ascent.

Great view of the valley - climb is worth it.
In winter, the rise to the tower may be too dark.
