The theater has four stages, Large House (1,041 seats), Small House (328 seats), Studio (89 seats) and the external Wartburg theater (154 seats, since 2003) on Schwalbacher Straße. It has about 600 employees. The director and actor Uwe Eric Laufenberg has been director of the Hessian State Theater since August 2014.
