You've seen it many times in pictures but when you're here it looks gigantic. People are so small in this huge landscape. Created from lakes, you walk on rock-hard, dry ground. You shouldn't touch the trees!

The classic route in Sossusvlei and therefore very crowded, at least in the morning.
You arrive at the 4x4 parking lot either with your own car (4x4 necessary!) or with the shuttle and follow the path. This can be recognized by the inserted poles.

The path is only recommended in the morning or evening as it offers no shade. Drinks and hats are a must. Appropriate footwear too.
Then you can discover trees that are almost 1,000 years old and have been preserved by the desert.

ATTENTION: The park opens at sunrise and closes at sunset. However, you have to plan the 60km long way back to Sessriem!
Or you can stay overnight at the campsites or lodges around the park.
