The history of the origin of the striking fountain is interesting:
In 1983, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Daun volunteer fire brigade, a balloon competition took place. The balloon that has flown the furthest landed in Carisolo/Trentino, north of Lake Garda; a girl from this town sent back the greeting card. As a result, contact developed between fire brigade and fire brigade, mutual visits and gifts deepened the friendship.
In 1988 the people of Daun were surprised by a valuable granite well, quarried in a quarry in Carisolo.
