The powder tower with the rest of the city wall is the last visible evidence of the former fortifications. This surrounded the city with four city gates, several gates and defensive towers.
The Powder Tower, probably built in the second half of the 15th century, served e.g. the storage of gunpowder. After being privately owned since 1806, the city bought it back in 1927.
It is currently part of the MuldeParadise and creates the connection between a modern adventure area and medieval town history.
