The path leads in a wide curve along the path over the Elbe or directly along the banks of the Elbe. These meadows are breeding and feeding grounds for numerous species of birds and small mammals, including the corncrake. The opposite bank of the Elbe reveals a city silhouette that cannot be compared with Dresden's formative building culture, such as from the center up the Elbe up to Pillnitz. A few exceptions are the slumbering Übigau Castle, the picturesque village centers of Alt-Mickten and Alt-Übigau or the Pieschener Winkel with its harbor and striking bridge pylon.
