It commemorates the rule of the fascist Arrow Cross and the following socialism in Hungary after the end of the Second World War, juxtaposing both regimes in its exhibition.

Built in 1880 according to plans by Adolf Feszty in the Neo-Renaissance style, the palace was originally Jewish-owned. From 1937 to 1944, it served as the headquarters and prison of Ferenc Szálasi's Hungarian Arrow Cross Party, known as the "House of Loyalty" (Hűség háza). In 1945, it was first taken over by the political police (PRO) and then became the headquarters of its successor organization, the communist State Security Service (ÁVO, or ÁVH). During the Stalinist era, the ÁVH used it as a torture prison. Through gradual expansion, the prison eventually encompassed the underground area beneath the entire surrounding block of flats. After the popular uprising of 1956, it was converted into the headquarters of the Communist Youth League (KISZ).

You become very thoughtful and it creates a great deal of consternation when standing in front of this house.
