On the 1st floor there is a small museum on the subject of "hewing, stabbing and courting". An exhibition on the history of knighthood in Franconia. Opening hours:

A very nice destination and a nice innkeeper who even opens his locked door for four hikers. A really cool sock. Thanks again! And besides, the guy is great at cooking. So thumbs up and towards Hartenstein Castle.

The castle Hartenstein was probably not built before the first half of the 13th century, possibly only in the interregnum under the imperial ministries of Neidstein. This assumption is supported by the latest findings - large square with pliers holes - and relevant ceramic finds. In 1268 the castle was first documented in the possession of "Rupertus miles dictus de Hertenstein".

Great distant view, the restaurant / beer garden had a closed group on every visit, but you could sit in the shade with a distant view. Also a great photo opportunity from the parking lot side.

Beautiful views of the surrounding landscape

Great food. Really highly recommended. In addition - if you are lucky and get a window seat - a wonderful view of the route you just hiked.

Nice beer garden, good cuisine, great view of Hartenstein and the surrounding forests.
