Tour in which the force of gravity (satchel :-) is quite noticeable at the beginning. But I quickly warmed up with minus 10 degrees and an icy east wind.
It's a shame that the Gasthof Eck was closed.

Small after-work tour in springtime Bayreuth. Sun and about 10 degrees C.

Interesting part of the Rennsteig. At Spechtsbrunn you would have to carry your skis about 800 m to the next entrance. Because of the impending rain front, then the other way around.
Very informative notes on a section of the Rennsteig steeped in history. At the information center at the cold kitchen, there are usually delicious Thuringian sausages with good beer, if Corona allows it :-)

Finally sun again. Thanks to the DJK Pressath, who sprint the trail whenever possible.

Dream trail conditions. Tracked the last 400 m to the Hackelstein yourself. The trail doesn't go directly there.
The new tenant has already set up a kiosk at the Rawetzer house. Good punch from Schraml from Erbendorf and delicious freshly fried sausages. Had a very nice conversation.

Finding the way to the Wackelstein because of the lot of snow initially bumpy. Then a good path past the Petrushütte to the Waldnaab spring, which then first flows to the Czech Republic. Via the Entenbühl back to Altglashütte.
Fortunately, the skaters were there afterwards, as the good condition could be seen when crossing the trail.

Quiet winter hike. Former hiking trail on the Leonie (see picture) is slowly being brought back by nature. The reason is because the groundwater was pumped out in the mining industry and it has returned to its old state.
The lookout rocks over Zogenreuth are always beautiful.

In Rieden I just went towards the Hohenfels Training Area. At the top of the mountain the huge Ostbayernhalle (Matthes Gutshof) can be seen. Horse tournaments with a capacity of 12,000 spectators take place here regularly. Next door is a construction site that has been idle for a long time. A sports hotel with 147 double rooms should be completed here. Two locals didn't know why it couldn't go on either.
The old dilapidated inn in Winbuch used to be a small country castle.
Schmidmühlen an interesting market, which for centuries lived mainly from growing hops. The confluence of the Lauterach and the Vils can be found at the Lower Castle.

Nice afternoon hike on the Ochsenkopf. Across the climb with the blue point to the Obere Ringstrasse and from there back to the southern exit. Past the memorial stone of the ski department of 1. FC Nürnberg, where 3 comrades had an accident in the Stubai Alps and at the Fürstenbrunnen. In the past, the people of Nuremberg were strongly represented in the Fichtelgebirge.
There was a lot going on on the southern run, so you could have let the lift run.
