Running

To protect the emerging industry, Hochstadt was completely rebuilt with a curtain wall around 1350. The perimeter has largely been preserved. However, wooden structures, covered corridors and stairs did not withstand the test of time. The development of the city was limited by the city wall until the 19th century, and only then were houses built outside of it.

Hiking

Probably built in the 13th century from limestone quarried in the municipality. On the north side three high and three low towers, which were called "Rondell". The southern curtain wall was torn down except for a remnant at the upper gate and in the western area. The wall was 900 meters long, about 80 centimeters thick and had two gates.
