These historical words have their origins in the consecration of the church in 1910 when field ranger Cornelis Meesters served on the railway bridge. There he maintained order and stopped the people of Gellik and Zutendaal who wanted to get to the bishop. The residents of Eigenbilzen had priority.
The large hand symbolizes the story of the consecration of the church in 1910 and the hand of the constable. The small hands in the big hand refer to the solidarity of the village, the close-knit community of Eigenbilzen.
