Hiking

From the Eisenschmelze parking lot, the Pioneer Weg goes uphill. Officers and NCOs of the K. B. II. Army Corps chiseled several personal references on the bare rock walls in 1896. They wanted to document that it was they who dug and blasted this difficult path into the steep slope of the mountain. Approximately in the middle of the ascending path, a large stone slab shows that you are here on the Fuchs Steige. Named after Captain Fuchs. Further boards and simple data point to the builders of the path.
