The Moosalbe has created an impressive valley over its 26 kilometers to where it flows into the Schwarzbach. It was once the basis for the operation of numerous hammer mills, which are informatively reminded along the way. The most famous section is probably the Karlstal Gorge between Oberhammer and Mittelhammer.

The Moossalb rises near Johanniskreuz, flows through the Oberhammer, then through the Karlstal Gorge, before it flows into the Schwarzbach for a few kilometers at Waldfischbach. A beautiful stream that is worth accompanying.

The path from the Karlstal Gorge to the Naturfreundehaus Finsterbrunnertal is completely shaded along the Moosalbe, with several places to stop for refreshments. Partial overlap with the Trippstadt Eisenhüttenweg: trippstadt.de/discoveren/eisenhuettenweg-trippstadt.html
