On Saturday, November 6th, 2004, a small but beautiful suspension railway monument in Barmer Nordpark was handed over to the public at a ceremony. A year earlier, the former chairman of the Nordstadt Barmen Citizens' Association, Werner Zanner, had suggested to the board that a piece of the suspension railway, the scaffolding of which has been gradually renovated since 1995, be presented as a technical monument in the Nordpark.
The upper belt node, which was deburred and painted by the WSW, was part of the suspension railway structure at the level of the employment office between the Völklinger Straße and Regional Court stations.
