"The old forge in Heylstrasse existed before the 30 Years War. After the destruction and turmoil of this war, the forge was rebuilt in 1664. After 1705, Kaspar Spieker worked as a court blacksmith in Hailer, who worked for the gruesome Ysenburg house in Meerholz The following generations switched to a locksmith's shop. From 1744–1823, Johann Heinrich Paul ran the blacksmith's shop as a farrier
the blacksmith Michael Joseph Desch from Burgjoss after Hailer, whose son bought the forge from the blacksmith Martin Klipfel from Lieblos for 500 guilders in 1854. Since then, the forge has been owned by the Desch family to this day. Today the grandson of the last master blacksmith, Thomas Desch, maintains and maintains the forge as a private museum blacksmith. Here he makes blacksmithing as a hobby with the knowledge his grandfather has acquired, so that the typical smell of fire and iron is still present in the forge. "
