Today the technology didn't play along and didn't record the first third of the tour, so just a straight line on the map 😵💫.
Through the idyllic Bulau along the Kinzig, currently the Kinzigsteg is closed due to bridge work, to the Philippsruhe Castle. The magnificent country castle in baroque style surrounded by a beautiful castle park is the perfect setting for weddings. Even today - 👰🏻♀️ 🤵🏼♂️.
Through the Kinzigwiesen Erlensee to Langenselboder Kinzigsee and Ruhlsee. It is always nice here with many resting places by the lake. Continue on the R3 through the Kinzigtal home 🚴♀️.

Via Hohe Straße to Frankfurt. 🚴♀️
The regional park route Hohe Straße follows the historical course of an old trade route and leads as a high route through wide landscape. The Hohe Strasse was only part of a road network that spanned all of Europe. For example, it was part of the historic Via Regia from Santiago de Compostela to Kiev. Along the tour there are great views, including the Frankfurt skyline, the neighboring low mountain ranges Taunus, Vogelsberg, Spessart, Odenwald and of course the Rhine-Main conurbation. Rest opportunities, at the Lausbaum even with hammocks and reading corners
and play facilities for children. However, one should not underestimate the headwind at the height, which sometimes blows violently. Our tour continues over Frankfurt's local mountain, the Lohrberg. Here the Lohrbergschänke was open "to go". We haven't seen that many people in a year and a half 🙆♀️ 🙈. Then go down via Seckbach and Bornheim to the main train station. Ride home by train to Gelnhausen and a bit more home by bike. All in all, a very recommendable tour.

The May 1st tour takes us right on our doorstep through the botanical garden to the Meerholz Castle Park with the Castle Church. A large park (approx. 10 hectares) with walking paths and a large and small pond belongs to the castle. There are centuries-old trees here and wild garlic can currently be admired everywhere.
The path continues through Meerholz along the railway line to the first Hessian forest youth home in Niedermittlau am Mühlwald. We missed the junction to the Waldheim in the village, so please follow the path suggested by Komoot, which leads through the residential area and under the main road over to the Mühlwald. Through the forest it goes to Neuenhasslau and at the end of the village over the road into the forest directly to the Grosse Buchberg. The 29 m high Buchberg Tower is located there. Unfortunately, this is closed due to corona measures. In good weather, the lower viewing platform at a tower height of 20.9 meters allows a wide panoramic view of the Spessart, Taunus, Vogelsberg, over the Kinzig valley into the Rhön and large parts of the Rhine-Main area.
The path continues through the forest and across fields to the Gondsrother Edelweiß hut. A stop would have been possible here in normal times 🤷🏻♀️.
Via Niedermittlau and the Niedermittlauer Heiligenkopf, through the clay group Meerholz and past the former EU center, the tour is coming to an end. Nature has shown itself in its full splendor with its wonderful colors and flowers.
Elevation meters were a moderate 290 m.

From Hailer via Lieblos, Hain-Gründau and Breitenborn along the Gründau, on the edge of the Büdinger Forest and the Spielberger Platte up to Wittgenborn. It's a nice climb, but all the more nice to sit and rest by the pond after the work is done. Departure to Wächtersbach with its great old town and the newly renovated Wächtersbach Castle. It has become really nice, when the outdoor facilities are also laid out, it is a perfect place to relax, play and relax - in the middle of the city. Continue towards Biebergemünd into the wonderful Hirschbachtal. The Hirschbachhütte is located here by the Hirschbach and the ponds. An area to relax and also to celebrate when the May 1st festivities take place again. At the edge of the Alteburgshöhe up a moderate slope and then you look over Wirtheim and Kassel into the Biebertal. After a short rest in the ex at home, we continue towards Gelnhausen. You could also comfortably drive the R3 through the Kinzig valley, or take an incline over the Rehlingsberg. So up the last slope, take a short break at the Kaiserbaum and then roll down. At the edge of the forest you have a fabulous view of the now widening Kinzig valley, also called the gateway to the Kinzig valley.
All in all, 580 meters of altitude had to be overcome on this varied tour.

Today on the road again in the Kahlgrund. This time on the European Rottenberg-Feldkahl cultural hiking trail. We started the tour in Blankenbach and then followed the culture trail from Rottenberg. Very interesting and nice route. At the Holler winery in Rottenberg you have a great view of Aschaffenburg and beyond to the Odenwald, in the middle of the vineyards. Very nice. Also a recommended stop if it is possible again.
Unfortunately, I have to point out Komoot's strange altitude record here as well. That was only 370 m.

Today on a different route to "Besenkassel" ... 🥾 🎒. Via Geislitz, Eidengesäß, towards Breitenborner Höhe and on hidden Komoot trails 🌳 down the Galgenberg towards Lanzingen and on the Spessartbogen to Kassel. Arrived on time for the start of the rain, what more could you want 💦 🌨.
Ascent and descent 370 m.

Beautiful round from Bensberg through the Grube Cox nature reserve, along the Strunde through floodplain forest, over fields with a view of Cologne, relaxing resting places by the water ... and at the end of the round through the park to Bensberg Castle. From there, the view leads directly to Cologne Cathedral. Very nice.
The altitude difference is 390 m, Komoot's statement is incorrect.

Beautiful home tour - Alteburgshöhe, Hartmannsheiligen, through the upper Hirschbachtal to the Grau Ruh forest chapel, which has been shining in new splendor since 2019. A wonderful place in the middle of the forest. The middle Tannenhütte has also been renewed and invites you to rest with a wonderful view of the Biebertal.
