The Tauber is a river in southern Germany on both sides of the border between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. It rises at the western foot of the Frankenhöhe, flows north-west for about 130 km through the Franconian region and flows into the Main from the left and south-east in Wertheim. It gave its name to the Tauberfranken sub-region immediately surrounding it.
