The viaduct hiking trail offers numerous beautiful views. This hiking trail is very well planned. It seems natural, but you can still see that a lot of thought went into the planning to offer hikers something scenic. Really beautiful views over fields, meadows and forests. Simply beautiful!

The tour puts the real landmark of Altenbeken in the limelight: the viaduct, inaugurated in 1853, up to 35 meters high and 482 meters long with its 24 round arches is considered the largest stone railway bridge in Europe and can be experienced from different perspectives on the way, always embedded in the gently hilly, wooded landscape around Altenbeken.
