The still water Alter Teich, also called Kleiner Bramfelder See, is located in Hamburg-Bramfeld west of Bramfelder Chaussee and east of the Ohlsdorf cemetery.
It is the source pond of the Seebek and is around 1.7 hectares in size.
There are further access routes from Anderheitallee in the south and Am Ehrenmal street in the north. The latter refers to the First World War memorial, created by the sculptor Karl Schurig, which is located north of the pond above a meadow. It honors the 165 Bramfeld and Steilshoop soldiers who died in the First World War. A World War II stone slab was also added.
The pond is used as a local recreation area. There are sunbathing areas all around. But the old pond is also used as a fishing pond. Central European fish species such as perch, bream, pike, carp, roach, rudd and bleak are found.
