This chapel is the visual end of Mittelallee and was built according to plans by the chief building director Fritz Schumacher. Traditional forms are fused with echoes of the "New Building": on the outside the facing with decoratively used Oldenburg clinker brick, on the inside the reinforced concrete construction, whose shredded ribs divide the circular celebration room very tightly vertically and converge in a star shape under the ceiling. The strict forms of the building complex illustrate the architectural principle of the new part of the cemetery according to plans by the garden and cemetery director Otto Linne.

The use of smooth and hard materials in the central party room caused problems in the room acoustics from the start. In 1930, for example, the phonetic institute of the University of Hamburg issued an expert opinion. Further sound-absorbing measures followed in the 1970s.
The daylight is impressively directed through the high, small-scale stained glass windows: in the west through yellow to brownish to violet tones, in the east the play of colors begins with light green tones (design: painter Fritz Hussmann). A noteworthy but inconspicuous detail is the striking plate of the bronze door handle of the entrance door, artist unknown. The chapel was opened for funerals on July 2, 1929, and has 151 seats. A comprehensive renovation of the building was carried out in 1996 at a cost of DM 700,000: among other things, the roof was re-tiled, the lead glazing was repaired and the interior was painted an old pink color.

This chapel was built in 1929 according to plans by the chief building director Fritz Schumacher as a visual end to Mittelallee. The shape of the building complex takes up the motif with the strict lines of the new cemetery section according to plans by the garden and cemetery director Otto Linne.
