The Windebyer Noor was also known earlier as the Eckernförder Noor. The inland lake is about 389 hectares. The white stone consists of reddish granite and was moved here from what is now southern Sweden from Värmland. It weighs around 48 tons and is the sixth largest boulder in Schleswig-Holstein. Its white color comes from the droppings of the sea birds that rest on the stone. Around three quarters of the Windebyer Noores are surrounded by a hiking trail. It is possible to go around the lake completely, but part of it is via roads.
