As an ex-Hamburger after almost 62 years the first time on / in this Hamburg district with not even 40 inhabitants. The small island Neuwerk is located in the middle of the Elbe estuary and together with the islands Nigehörn and Scharhörn the farthest from the center of Hamburg (district of Hamburg Mitte) removed district. Nearly 40 people live on the island, around the historic lighthouse. A variety of bird life and seclusion make the island in the Elbe estuary a true experience. Three square kilometers, 14 kilometers from Cuxhaven. For the Hanseatic city Neuwerk was for centuries of strategic importance, because it had the Elbe estuary under control. This region has always been one of the busiest maritime zones in the world. Unfortunately, due to the short time window, we could circle the island in full or climb the lighthouse. But I'm sure I'll be back in the next 61 years. 😉In addition, the journey was an expensive undertaking. The route through the old country and the B 73 are strewn with speed cameras just so. Was (unfortunately) two times scanned, so eyes on and radar detector on.

The nature reserve Hell is certainly one of the most charming hiking areas in the front Bavarian Forest. The huge rock piles and a real sea of rocks under which the mountain stream "Höllenbach" seeks its way gave the Höllbachtal its name. The huge rock formations and rocks along the way and in the midst of the Höllbach and the special Lindenblockschuttwald form a unique nature reserve in the front Bavarian Forest. The trail is mainly in the forest under shady trees and is an ideal destination for the whole family.

In Kaiserwetter a great round trip with my son on Nordstrand. Unfortunately, after 29 km he broke the camp of the right pedals. But as he is, he bravely pedaled with just one pedal and on the pedal axle, with only slightly reduced average speed. Chapeau for it, who knows if I would handle it so well. North Beach is an island that is not really one, as it is connected to the mainland by a causeway. Nordstrand is worth a trip in all seasons. From here also the ferries to Amrum, Sylt and the Hallig Hooge start. From here you can also perform various interesting mudflats.

Well, that happens to me every now and then with Endomondo. But no matter, was nevertheless a spontaneous and beautiful tour around the northernmost point of the German mainland, only the tip of the island of Sylt towers a little further north.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is pure romance.
Hardly any other city embodies its history so impressively and vividly. Here, as it were, the stones speak: they tell of kings and emperors, of the secrets and the magic of the Middle Ages. It is now the fourth time that I have taken a dreamy break from the restless present in the shelter of the impressive city walls. And this time it was especially nice, because my magical Bodden mouse accompanied me. A special tip are the small side streets, the castle garden and the paths around the city. They offer numerous romantic corners for connoisseurs.

Very nice resort in the middle of the natural park Altmühltal. The city of Beilngries exudes a southern flair with its baroque buildings, medieval towers and lively food scene.

Regensburg, with its breathtaking and beautiful old town is always worth a visit. A must is also over 500 years old historical "Wurstkuchl zu Regensburg". It is the oldest sausage parlor in the world and is located on the Danube Trudel, right next to the Stone Bridge. Much has remained the same to this day: the open charcoal grill, the homemade sausages made from pure pork ham, the sauerkraut from our own fermenting cellar and the well-known Wurstkuchl mustard following the historic recipe. A pleasure for all senses.

Idyllic hiking trail in Altmühltal along the Danube and through shady mixed forest with stunning views of the Danube Gorge and Weltenburg, a part of the Bavarian Jura. The return trip should be back necessarily with the Zille (on the crossing to Weltenburg) to Wipfelsfurt and from there on foot back to Kelheim.

This section on the Altmühltal Panoramaweg offers beautiful views from a picture book. The rock formation "Twelve Apostles" near Solnhofen / Esslingen, probably the most famous photo motif from the Altmühltal Nature Park, is located directly on the track. And on the Maxberg near Mörnsheim, things get really "rocky" - there the route passes an operation of the natural stone industry. Sure-footedness is required here.
