The church of Sukow was inaugurated in 1883. The Neo-Gothic brick building has a choir ending from the octagon and a tower that rises on three floors. In 1908, the altarpiece (Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane) and the organ were purchased.

An old altarpiece from a previous chapel was rediscovered during construction. The three-part painting depicts the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Entombment of Jesus. On the back is noted that David Hille, court painter from Schwerin, painted the picture 1700.

The hall church is on the federal highway 321, which, coming from the south, leads as Putlitzer Straße to the Suckow junction of the federal highway 24.

There are different information about the construction date. While the Dehio handbook places the building in the second quarter of the 16th century, other sources give the year of the documentary mention of Suckow 1328, in which there is also talk of a church.
The parish also mentions the first mention of a Gothic field stone church in 1328 on an information board on the building.
It is therefore possible that a sacred building existed as early as the 14th century, which was expanded or rebuilt two centuries later. Dendrochronological investigations on a beam dated 1588 revealed that the wood must have been felled around 1587. This could mean that the church tower was added to the previously towerless structure during this period.
In the 1860s, the parish repaired the building. Parts of the equipment were also replaced. Other items were replaced in the years 1963 to 1966. In 1964 she re-covered the tower with slate.
In 1997 the roof was again covered with Canadian white cedar shingles.
