The Gädebehn forestry office is responsible for around 16,800 hectares of forest on a territory of around 61,000 hectares. Due to the local differences, the forest structure is very diverse. Although pine and beech forests are dominant, there are also many mixed forests in which tree species such as larch, spruce, ash and alder are also represented. With its upper reaches, the Warnow flows through all six districts of the forestry office. Numerous lakes complete the landscape. Accordingly, the water in the region plays an important role for the animal and plant world, which is also reflected in the frequent occurrence of animal species such as otters, beavers or sea eagles and cranes as well as red, wild boar and red deer.wald-mv.de/Forstaemter/Gaedebehn
