The village church of Peckatel in the municipality of Plate in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is considered the smallest half-timbered church in Mecklenburg. It was built in 1692. It is closed on three sides in the east. To the west is a low, wooden boardwalk with pitched roof. The boards are said to have been obtained from the wood of the previous building. The roofing consists of beaver tails in crowning. The church is surrounded by a village green covered with old trees, which used to be a cemetery.

The church on the village green in Peckatel is today the smallest half-timbered church in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A chapel for baptisms and funerals was built around 1300 during the development of the village. However, the church in its present form was not built until around 1696, after its predecessor had been destroyed during the Thirty Years' War. In 1718 the interior fittings, with pews, altar, pulpit with staircase and confessional, took shape, so that from 1786 services with communion were held on the days of penance and prayer. Only in 1971 was the building, including the foundation, extensively renovated, and in 1995 electric seat heating was installed. Since 1996, the Plate congregation has also held main services in the Peckateler village church. Historical sculptures inside the building depicting significant events in the history of the church in the style of rural baroque painting, and other interior objects were extensively restored in 2006. The next project to preserve the church is to repair the roof.
