A water mill located here has been reported in church books since the 16th century. A pastor named a mill in Bauda as early as 1575. In what was later to be found to the north-east of the Röder, there was a mill and oil mill, which included a very large farm. The Walda manor also once managed the Bauda mill and leased the agricultural land. After a short time, however, it went back into free ownership. The lands that still belonged to the church and the manor were divided up and sold to the citizens of Bauda. Some of these have since been owned. After 1843 there were only free owners of the mill. The Harzbecker family is still running it in the 3rd generation. In 1909 it was rebuilt and enlarged.

Formerly a grain mill, now producing fodder meal, inside a water turbine from 1916, other technology mostly from 1925, some also from 1968. Original building from 1859, two-storey with a gable roof, two storeys added in 1909 under Otto Thürigen.
The bridge at the mill is closed and even if you cross it, you cannot go any further over the Röder shortly afterwards.
