A legend has grown up around this old linden tree on the side of the path next to the fisherman's hut. It is said to have served the slender miller from the nearby grain mill as a refuge.

The tree, which still exists today as a biotope, was larger then than it is today. The branching trunk was already hollow inside. Slender beings could get inside through a narrow slit.

The miller and overweight husband of the above-mentioned woman drank a lot and often wanted to approach his wife while drunk. So she fled swiftly into the tree, where her husband could not follow her.

The couple remained childless. The tree was therefore popularly christened the contraceptive linden.
