The Hönnige is a right tributary of the Wupper. It rises in Halver, flows through the Wipperfürth villages of Kupferberg, Wasserfuhr, Hönnige and Harhausen and, fed by the Schevelingen dam, flows into the Wupper near Wipperfürth's main town. There is an underground connection to the Neyetalsperre from the Wasserfuhr equalizing reservoir.
