Since the water requirements of the city of Remscheid could no longer be completely covered by the neighboring Eschbach dam, the first plans for another dam were made as early as 1902. A hike around the Neyetalsperre is a good way of getting to grips with yourself. No navigation, no signs, just quiet and occasionally you meet other hikers. In a clockwise direction the arms come first and the "way back" to the top is shorter. Counter-clockwise, the optical half is done quickly but only 1/3 of the way. The last arm in particular pulls itself out after the dam was already so close. The restaurant looks really very inviting.
