The "Alte Försterei", built around 1733, belonged to the former Rococo palace of the Weimar Duke Ernst August and was the residence of the Forst- und Jägermeister. The castle, built between 1730 and 1740 under the direction of the ducal master builder G.H. Krohne, burnt down already 6 years after its completion. Hiking

From 1730 to 1746, Duke Ernst August of Saxony-Weimar had a Rococo palace built by the Baroque architect Gottfried Heinrich Krohne. In 1752, the town fire largely destroyed the princely summer residence. However, one side building has survived to this day - the Old Forester's Lodge.
