Hiking

The Heller area is geologically a high terrace between the foothills of the West Lusatian Mountains and the Elbe valley basin. Clearance from 1827 and the soon subsequent military use of the area led to the development of a barren landscape with little vegetation on the Pleistocene-shaped Sander des Hellers. Pine, birch, reforested common oak and robinia determine the tall flora, while green gorse bushes stand between the trees. The 125 hectare area that we walk through for a part is part of the protected fauna and flora habitat.

In general, the Heller is always worth recommending. You rarely find so much nature in such a small space. Deciduous forest, mixed forest, coniferous forest, heathland and desert .. a great hiking and cycling area.
