In 1771, under Georg Heinrich I von Carlowitz, governor and owner of the Röhrsdorf and Plotzen manors, one of the first Saxon parks in the English style was laid out in Röhrsdorfer Grund: the Röhrsdorfer Park. In the past, princes who were enthusiastic about gardens and their immediate neighbors like Prince Anton of Saxony or Prince Nikolai Putjatin used to visit the landscape park. We walk to the left of the gently babbling brook Briese along the slope. So we pass various small monuments, memorial stones and benches that remind us of previous visitors. In the further course we first meet the Pfaffenteich, then later the Pfitzteich. We use one of the paths through the mixed forest to get to the picturesque pond. The small dam invites you to take a break, enjoy a dreamy view of the water and listen to the birds chirping.

If you stay after the Pfaffenteich (seen in the direction of Pfitzteich) at the bottom of the Briese stream and continue on the small path, you will pass several old boundary stones. VC or B and 1801 are stamped into them. We couldn't find anything about it. Perhaps they are referring to von Carlowitz (one of the ruling families on Röhrsdorf) and Borthen. The path is quite overgrown, but accessible.

In the 18th century, the Carlowitz family had a landscape garden with paths, grottos, bridges and rest areas laid out in the idyllic grounds. Friends put up statues and inscriptions. But it was soon forgotten. Since 2007, the Röhrsdorf local history association has been rebuilding it.

Even if there is hardly anything left of the original beauty of the park, a walk through the grounds is always worthwhile thanks to the quiet and idyllic paths.
